Lush Introduces Limited Edition Soap to Help Syrian Refugees

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics stores throughout North America will sell the Hand of Friendship Soap, a delicate floral scented,heart-shaped soap of two hands embraced as one. The limited edition soap symbolizes Lush’s efforts to openly welcome Syrian Refugees into the United States and Canada. 100% of the sale of the soap will go towards the Friendship Fund which will benefit organizations working to help Syrian refugees and their families settle into their new lives far away from the world they have known.
As a company that stands for human rights, Lush is sensitive to the Syrian Refugee crisis. Millions of Syrian men, women and children are being forced out of their homes and country to seek safe refuge from war. For families who have lost everything arrival and settlement will be difficult, so Lush is calling on the support of their customers and the community to welcome our new neighbors with love and friendship.
Customers can support Lush’s efforts by purchasing a bar of friendship soap for $5.95. Through the sale of the soap, Lush aims to raise $350K towards the Friendship Fund directly benefiting Syrian Refugees resettlement efforts in Canada and the US. The Friendship Fund will be distributed to Lush’s campaign partners, International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Amnesty International Canada, and other groups working toward refugee resettlement in North America. In addition to purchasing the soap, customers can show their support by visiting Lush Cosmetics stores to send a postcard to personally welcome refugee families. Online shoppers will have the option to send a warm welcome message via Lushusa.com and Lush.ca. Customers are also encouraged to show their support socially by using #RefugeesWelcome.
